YHS Prayer Ministry
Hello church family!
We had a great start to this new year.
God has been blessing our Yucaipa High School prayer ministry. Someone generously donated $100 worth of Canes gift cards for us to hand out to students in need. This small blessing was a powerful reminder for us of God's faithfulness and an encouragement to keep pressing on. Our prayer ministry is intended as a witness to the student body at YHS. However, this blessing was a reminder that as we stand in obedience to the mission God has led us to, we also stand as witnesses to everyone who drives and walks by. We are showing our community in action that that our heart as a church is to reach the city of Yucaipa with the transforming, healing, love of Jesus Christ. In addition, we have added 5 names to our prayer list for the spring semester at YHS.
I would like to ask that you partner with us in praying over these names: Roslyn, Destiny, Mia, Robert, and Joseph. Please pray that God would continue to work in the hearts of the student body at YHS.
Youth Art Gallery
We also had our youth lead out in our "Arise & Build" art gallery. It was super fun to see the creativity and dreams of the students for our church here at The Well. The student ministry had oil pastel, watercolor painting, marker drawings, and poems, (even a Shakespeare style poem)! The overarching theme of our students' hearts was this: they want to create and be used in a space to reach the lost with the gospel of Christ! My hope as our church's student minister is to equip our students to live out their hopes and dreams as lifelong disciples of Christ. Tangible ways we are doing this is through expositional preaching to our students every week, giving them opportunities to lead, and through intentional discipleship like our recent discipleship seminar which taught students how to faithfully interpret and apply scripture. We will likely do the same seminar again in the near future. This way more students will have an opportunity to take advantage of this resource.
Final Updates
Coming up, we have our Winter Conference here at The Well on Saturday March 7th from 1-8pm. I am really excited about this opportunity! My hope and heart in having a low-cost day retreat for our winter camp option is to allow parents to prepare to send their students to summer camp. I truly believe that God honors time that we intentionally set aside to meet with and worship Him. Winter camp and summer camp are pivotal moments in many students' faith journeys for this reason! I will be excited to share more about these camps in the near future.
Thank you for your continued love and care for our student ministry. I believe students are not only the church of tomorrow, but they are also the church right here and right now at The Well. God is using our students in powerful ways. I am looking forward to see how God moves in our students this next month.
