September Deacon Updates

Hey Well Church Family,

Here's this month's update on what our deacons have been up to! They've been busy helping our church members with all kinds of projects, from weed-whacking yards, pulling weeds, and cleaning up after dogs to fixing a fallen curtain rod, soldering a piece of jewelry and repairing a kitchen faucet. They even took on a bigger project by tearing down and completely replacing and painting a new fence!

They also took on a significant project and installed a new A/C unit in the South Campus building hosting The Well Outreach Center. The Well Outreach Center and those using it for counseling unfortunately have been suffering in this heat for the last month or so without it. They quickly adapted and got smaller room air conditioning units during the meantime, but they weren't powerful enough. We're incredibly grateful to our deacons' hard work in trying to assess how to fix the system, then when that was no longer an option the best affordable air conditioning unit to install. They're now much cooler in their building so their work and counseling sessions can proceed without distraction.

Beyond the maintenance work, they've also been helping members with transportation, including giving rides home from church and picking up several members for Sunday services. One of our deacons also took one member to visit her friend in a nursing home, helped a widow transfer her electric bill into her name and even got her a discount!

Finally, our deacons aren't all work with no fun. They also hosted a smashing good time at their smash burger luncheon! Fifteen people showed up to enjoy some good food, play games, and spend time together. It was a great time of food and fellowship!

As always, if you're interested in joining them or serving in another way you can let us know by filling out our Volunteer Form!
